In real estate, there is an old question...and a response to that question: What are the three most important things to consider in any real estate purchase? The answer: LOCATION, LOCATION, & LOCATION! That is what 61 West Clinton offers, in addition to a beautifully built home on almost 1.3 acres of flat, beautiful and fully usable property. Today, I want to focus on the location and lifestyle because that is something you can't see from the house photos or even a video of the property.
Just steps west of the house you find the Old Croton Aqueduct. It is a beautifully wooded trail, actually a park, that takes you through the Rivertowns; maybe dine in Dobbs Ferry for breakfast and walk 10-15 minutes to Irvington for Lunch. Bicycles, strollers and dogs are allowed on the Aqueduct Path.
Just East of the house, you look down West Clinton and you see the Hudson River. It is a lovely walk with beautiful homes along the way, the Half Moon Co-op apartments, the babbling Barney Brook, Red Barn Bakery, The Trent Building, the Irvington Public Library and finally the Metro North Hudson Line train station. It is about a 15-minute walk to and from the station.
You can also veer left or north at Half Moon Lane at the end of West Clinton and take a bit of a shortcut through the woods to the
Ardsley-on-Hudson train station, that will take about the same amount of time, maybe slightly less.
The walk to the station is convenient, but being walking distance to schools, restaurants and all the village has to offer is also an amazing benefit to the West Clinton Location. It is a grand street, it looks and feels wider than most streets in the area, lined with mature trees and historic homes. You are amongst good company; your neighbor is the historic Octagon House.
If you are looking for a beautiful home and a lifestyle that is relaxed, yet an easy and quick commute to NYC, 61 West Clinton is the home for you!
